Pope Francis talked about wealth. He said that when a person is attached to material riches, life becomes sad and selfish. He said it slowly chips away at hope and it opens the door towards corruption, both big and small.
“The attachment to riches is the beginning of all kinds of corruption, in all aspects: personal corruption, corruption in business, even small commercial bribery, the kind that shortchanges you at the counter, political corruption, corruption in education … Why? Because those who live attached to their own power and their own wealth, they believe they’re in heaven.”
The Pope then added that wealth should be shared.
